Stories of innovation in the maritime sector

RiverGuide Moerdijk – Notices to Port Authorities

Together with the Port of Moerdijk started a pilot for the inland vessels to facilitate barge skippers in digitally informing port authority on their visit and activities in the port. The pilot is part of the RiverGuide collaboration between the several port and waterway authorities, i.e. the Port of Moerdijk, Port of Rotterdam, Port of Amsterdam, Rijkswaterstaat, Groningen Sea Port, North Sea Port and the Provinces of Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland and Overijssel.

Teqplay @ChainPortHackathon: the finals and 3 prizes!

Playing around with technology, thinking out of the box, driving innovation in order to build the port and the port community. That is what we love, that is what we do, that is what we are good at. And that is why we participated in the ChainPort Hackathon in Antwerp.

Control Tower for the maritime Supply Chain

Real-time insight in the supply chain is key. Many processes in the organization depend on the actual delivery of the goods. Having insight in the flow on arrival and potential deviations is the first requirement for being in control. Managing the planning in different spreadsheets is holding organizations back from taking the next step in being in control on the supply chain.

RiverGuide: automatic request to open bridges

In 2018 and 2019 more bridges in the Province of Noord-Holland will be added to the system

Port Reporter

Port Call Optimization is one of the pillars of Teqplay, where innovation, technology and collaboration meet. The port call is the ultimate collaborative process where up to 27 parties are involved. Our vision is that providing real-time information on the current and predicted state of the port call will effectively result in higher efficiency of ports and operational processes and saving costs and CO2-emissions.

ShipTracker: a next step towards predictable port calls

Shiptracker is live! A new online service from the Port of Rotterdam giving insight in the ocean going ships due to call at the port of Rotterdam over the next 48 hours. Teqplay is proud to provide historical, actual and predicted the data for this new service. The service is open and can be used at https://shiptracker.portofrotterdam.com

Predictable & Optimal Port Call – Shaping the future!

“Port Call Optimization needs reliable digital information”. The question is how to collect and generate reliable information, and distribute it to the right person in the supply chain? We are proud to announce that we are part of the Rotterdam ‘Port Call Optimization’-initiative. In collaboration with Rotterdam Logistics Lab (RLL) we are developing Pronto addressing the optimization challenge. Pronto shows the critical timestamps of all parties in the port call, and provides the right information to the right person to make smart decision(s). As Teqplay, we value this close collaboration with RLL in co-creating the port of the future!

RiverGuide continues; the next step

Today’s trends on sustainability, globalisation and increasing competitiveness result in an urge to innovate. To ‘go with the flow’ and foster innovation in the barge industry, the RiverGuide initiative has been initiated by the Rotterdam port authority about a year ago. A safe and smooth journey for inland skippers with the right information, that’s the goal! In our previous blog, we shortly introduced RiverGuide to you. In this blog, we will talk about the next steps of this successful platform.

Learn & Improve – Port Performance Monitoring

Do you know whether your port area is operating efficiently today? And do you know whether performance is improving or deteriorating since last month?

RiverGuide – smart barging

Innovation is the key factor for ports to develop competitive advantage. The Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest port with a high number of inland barges visiting the port each year. Riverguide started as an initiative from the Port of Rotterdam to provide the inland skippers with more information to have a safe and smooth journey to, and through the port.
